After the last Sun Age, Hunab Ka, Mayan Sun God banished the Death Lords to Xibalba. When the waters receded they plotted their return.
The one thing the Mayans feared most was the end of time. In the hopes of preventing this, they first transferred the observed cycles from the heavens into linear progressions of time, so that time could only stop when the cycles were complete.
The Popol Vuh consists of astronomical and prophetical calculations, which the Mayans did in exacting degree. Explaining these calculations is the story of how the universe came to be created, the failed creations of humanity, the conquest of death, the successful creation of humanity, the weakening of the powers of humanity, the dispersal of humanity.
The gods try four times to create humans and failed each time, so they destroy their creations. In 2012 Eye of the Shaman we must all ask ourselves how we’ve done this time as the 4th Sun Age comes to a close….if we’ve passed the test and make it to the next Sun Age.

The Prophet Muhammed is known to have described zodiacal light in reference to the timing of the five daily prayers, calling it the false dawn, or al Fajr al Khaadib.
Muslim oral tradition preserves numerous sayings, or hadith, in which Muhammed describes the difference between the light of false dawn, appearing in the sky long after sunset, and the light of the first band of horizontal light at sunrise, the true dawn. Practitioners of Islam use the Prophet’s descriptions of zodiacal light to avoid errors in determining the timing of daily prayers. (source: Wikipedia)
This phenomenon was first investigated by the astronomer Giovanni Domenico Cassini in 1683 and first explained by Nicolas Fatio de Duillier in 1684.
Visible this weekend after sunset, look west for a ghostly triangle of light jutting upward from the horizon. If you can see it, you’ve spotted the Zodiacal Light:
The zodiacal light is a faint, roughly triangular, whitish glow seen in the night sky which appears to extend up from the vicinity of the sun along the ecliptic or zodiac. In mid-northern latitudes, the zodiacal light is best observed in the western sky in the spring after the evening twilight has completely disappeared, or in the eastern sky in the autumn just before the morning twilight appears. CODICES
Only four Maya glyph books, called codices, survive. In 2012 EYE OF THE SHAMAN there is a 5th. This “missing mystical” 5th is the, original one that was created by Shaman Way Pech.
Codices are painted on lime-whitened bark paper, folded accordion-style. The codices were likely produced in the late post-Classical period (1200-1519 AD). Some material in the codices , including astronomical tables, appears to have been copied or adapted from manuscripts of the Classical period (200 – 900 AD). The long count entry date of the Dresden Codex eclipse table, for example, correlates to 755 AD. This may date the original version of the table ( source:

MAYAN ZODIAC
The Paris Codex illustrates thirteen constellations along the ecliptic (one more than the twelve in the Old World zodiac). The constellations are apparently not illustrated in the order they appear in the heavens. Instead, each illustration is separated from the next by a count of 168 days.

In 2012 EYE OF THE SHAMAN I create a premise that powerful geomagnetic storms will wreak havoc with our electronically driven technology thus rendering our society’s functionality useless. It’s not as far fetched as one might think.
Last night the sun’s magnetic field near Earth tipped south,
opening a crackin our planet’s defenses against the solar wind. Charged particles poured in, fueling a brief but beautiful display of aurora borealis.

Evidence Mounts
The next solar cycle is going to be a big one.
Solar cycle 24, due to peak in 2010 or 2011 “looks like its going to be one of the most intense cycles since record-keeping began almost 400 years ago,” says solar physicist David Hathaway of the Marshall Space Flight Center.
He and colleague Robert Wilson presented this conclusion last week at the American Geophysical Union meeting in San Francisco.
Their forecast is based on historical records of geomagnetic storms.Hathaway explains: “When a gust of solar wind hits Earth’s magnetic field, the impact causes the magnetic field to shake. If it shakes hard enough, we call it a geomagnetic storm.”
In the extreme, these storms cause power outages and make compass needles swing in the wrong direction.
Auroras are a beautiful side-effect.
Hathaway and Wilson looked at records of geomagnetic activity stretching back almost 150 years and noticed something useful:. “The amount of geomagnetic activity now tells us what the solar cycle is going to be like 6 to 8 years in the future,” says Hathaway. A picture is worth a thousand words:

Today many people are experiencing a new understanding of time, cosmology, and our place in it. Cultural, economic, environmental, social and scientific changes are happening at an ever accelerating pace. But will that to shift of our collective energy be enough to prevent a major catastrophe?
The Internet mirror of Mayan Consciousness
The Internet is a great metaphor with which to look at this phenomenon. It gives instantaneous form to our ideas , our individual consciousness, and expresses it globally right in the same moment as a singular event in time and space.
Never before have there been as many ways to transmit knowledge. If you’ve ever bookmarked a site you know what I’m talking about. The more links to an idea, the more the idea takes form, grows and expands across the web – which is another name for an intricate grid work.
If everyone clicks on the same site it is like tuning into the same idea at the same time there would be an enormous shift and surge in planetary energy.
Singularity.
Our acceleration of consciousness is rapidly approaching instantaneous – everything happening at once. We are in the process of becoming one world consciousness.
The next step in our global unification of consciousness would be the disappearance of the perception of linear time.
WHY 2012?
The Mayan Calendar endsDecember 21, 2012. None of the other world calendric systems expire. Theirs is the only one that has an end date. That alone ought to be enough to stimulate curiosity.
The Mayan Calendar speaks in terms of closing and beginning of ages, a passage from this world time (The 4th SUN AGE) – to the next world (The 5th SUN AGE)
The Mayans correctly calculate our sun will conjunct the galactic center.
The Mayans were the first to identify The Precession of the Equinoxes which describes a 52,000 year cycle, A GREAT YEAR, of rotation through the galaxy – 26,000 years spent in galactic day, 26,000 in galactic night.
Mayan data aligns with the geological record of ice ages and pole shifts which support the concept that evolution is tied to these Great Cycles.
We are, according to the Maya, at the end of galactic night… our present time is the moment before dawn. The only thing that will stop us from making these great global changes are ourselves.
We are the prophecy we’ve been waiting for.

Venus brings love in our culture…to the Maya, it brought war.
Five hundred years before (150 AD), an Olmec stela called “La Mojarra” told the story of a warrior chief named Harvest Mountain Lord. The stela began by referring to a Venus phase cycle of 584 days. Then on one day of that cycle, during a solar eclipse, the chief and his supporters went to war. (

2012 EYE OF THE SHAMAN this story is woven into the plot as the catalyst that disrupts JAGUAR PAW’S assention to the throne, destroys the Mayan “kingdom of light”, and propels the calendar into the hands of the DEATH LORDS.
FACT:
The Maya developed a recyclable Venus calendar called the DRESDEN CODEX that was accurate to one day in 500 years and a table of eclipses that still functions today. They also accurately calculated the solar year out to four decimal places, a did it at a time Europe was in the Dark Ages.
THE DRESDEN CODEX
One of the worldwide three existing mayan codices to survive the book burnings by the Spanish clergy in 1521 turned up in Dresden in 1739. How it got to Vienna, is unknown – also part of the story in
2012 EYE OF THE SHAMAN. It surfaces in World War II Germany – and is liberated – by the Russians.
At the collapse of the Soviet Union, an agent of our government brings it to America. Since then it has been the property of the state fiercely guarded by a DEATH LORD reborn in our time, and now head of clandestine government agency.
But perhaps the greatest living gift the Mayan have given to our world is the consciousness of the 26,000 year the Precessional Cycle. 2012 marks the end the Great Cycle. The Great Cycle is a 5,125 year period of time that began August 13, 3114 in the Gregorian/Julian calendar . December 21, 2012 marks a moment in cosmology when our Solar System passes across the galactic center.
The Maya woke us from our collective slumbering into consciousness.

HEART OF SKY
We are at a critical juncture in the timeline of our world. Conscious beings around the globe know what’s at stake and appreciate the implications of the diverse predictions regarding this key date.
No matter what your individual world view is, everyone must acknowledge by now we are in an age of great transformation. Old systems break open and shift. You can say ” fall apart”, or you can say change form. Some people fear change. The unknown can be very scary concept. The “what if’s” begin to appear. Some people feel they must “control” a thing or situation` whether or not it’s possible. Can one control a falling piano? Nope. Best to step out of the way.

When 144,000 people are gathered at the same place at the same time and are focused in thought on the same thing. That thing changes.
On August 16,1987, over 144,000 people, exceeding the prophetical required number, the world’s first mass, global ceremony took place at several sacred sites to greet the dawn with peace, harmony, prayer, dance and meditation. It was called the HARMONIC CONVERGENCE. The first sunspot region with Solar Cycle 24 polarity was numbered by the Space Weather Prediction Center on January 4 at 2000 UTC (3:00 P.M. EST). The sunspot region was officially numbered as 10981.
This does not mean the new cycle has officially started; however, this is a clear sign Solar Cycle 24 is within sight. Sunspots are tracked because they indicate the level of space weather activity we expect. Solar activity is forecast to reach a peak in 2011 or 2012
In 2012 Eye of the Shaman, I paint a picture of a world a few scant years away when heightened sunspot activity creates powerful Geomagnetic storms that render all of our technology useless. Power grids, satellites, computers and mobile phones work inconsistently.
World in peril?
When the charged particles from such storms reach Earth, they can move the magnetic field that surrounds the planet, and if a magnetic field moves in relation to a conductor, it produces an electric current in the conductor. In this case, the conductor is the surface of the Earth itself, and the electric current that develops in it interferes with the man-made electric systems.
The March 1989 solar storm, imperceptible to people, caused a blackout all over Quebec and ruined two of the three huge transformers at the Salem 1 nuclear station in southern New Jersey.
The Salem failures were among 200 that the North American Electric Reliability Council, a utility group, determined resulted from that storm. The damage extended as far as southern California

A complex sunspot region near the center of the sun produced three major flares in the last 48 hours. A strong solar wind was observed in response to the first two events. The three Coronal Mass Ejections associated with the flares ejected billions of tons of plasma and charged particles into space. The third coronal mass ejection, which is heading towards Earth at a speed of 3 million miles per hour.

Massive Power Grid Failure in 2012?
The HydroQuebec Blackout of March 1989 – a dangerous event triggered by space weather.
On March 13, 1989, at 2:44 am, a transformer failure on one of the main power transmission lines in the HydroQuebec system precipitated a catastrophic collapse of the entire power grid. The string of events that produced the collapse took only 90 seconds from start to finish. There was no time for any meaningful intervention. The transformer failure was a direct consequence of ground induced currents from a space weather disturbance high in the atmosphere. 6 million people lost electrical power for 9 or more hours.
The space weather disturbance that produced this devastation was a great magnetic storm. Great magnetic storms are awesome disturbances in the near-Earth space environment that occur relatively rarely. The last five occurred in February 1986, March 1989, March 1991, November 1991 and May 1992. The frequency of large and great storms increases markedly as we enter the maximum in the solar activity cycle. The next predicted maximum is in the year 2000 (the last solar maximum was in 1989).

Ancient civilizations looked to the heavens as harbingers of their daily lives.

The AA Hypothesis in Brief
AAs first came to Earth many millennia ago. They were beings whose biology was similar to modern humans. They created modern mankind by mixing their genetic makeup with that of sub-humans. The purpose of mankind was to serve the AAs, principally by providing food and mining and construction labor. The AAs did not allow humans to view them – only their symbols (idols), suggesting that their appearance was frightening; however humans were occasionally permitted to see their emissaries, e.g. "geniuses" and "angels". They also would not allow humans near them, except priests who had cleansed and covered themselves and spread a germicide, suggesting their susceptibility to earthly diseases. They apparently moved about the Earth in spacecraft using chemical fuel, and only landed on mountaintops or other rocky outcroppings; this reduced the dust and provided physical protection from humans, and disease control. The earliest sites had a cave under the rock that protected the priests during the coming and going of the spacecraft. Later they built, or provided humans with tools to build, cyclopean structures – huge earthen, baked brick, or stone ceremonial platforms and pyramids, which served as landmarks and as landing and feeding sites. Since they had little defense against earthly bacteria, they developed methods to nourish themselves with the vapors emanating from food and drink which humans provided and burned for them. The food and drink was provided through the custom of sacrifice, the burning of the meat and blood of animals, and sometimes humans, which the AAs demanded. These ceremonial and feeding sites were located all over the world, most on or near the current equator or near earlier pole-shifted equators. They taught humans agriculture, astronomy, engineering, and provided the first laws. They then departed from the face of Mankind.
