Web Deisgner need all the help we can get! But we need a Plan!

Darkbird18 have be building and designing website for many years and had to learn the hard way, self taught and many years of experimentation. But also the Internet make it easy to learn HTML,CSS,DHTML,XHTML and Flash design because of FREE Online tutorials and outstanding PDF's downloads to study offline. Here is a example of a tutorial to help web designer with setting up a company's website by have a "Questionnaires,Project Sheets and Work Sheets", to help them and the webmaster to understand what they want for their website.

Amplify’d from www.smashingmagazine.com

It’s nearly impossible to provide an accurate quote to a prospective web design client without first gathering information about what that particular client needs. Some designers do this in either a face-to-face meeting or over the phone, but more often, they have a questionnaire that prospective clients fill out. This is preferable for a couple of reasons, but the most important is probably that this document then becomes an integral part of the design process and is available to refer back to along the way.

So the question is whether you should put that questionnaire up on your website, or only send it to prospective clients once they’ve contacted you. There are a couple of reasons you may want to make it available online, but the obvious one is that clients are often eager to get started with their projects and so by providing the questionnaire online, this eliminates a step in the pre-contract part of the process.

Here, we’ve collected questionnaires and worksheets used by actual web design companies, including some of the leaders in the industry. There are both online and downloadable forms included, as well as the pros and cons for each format.

Downloadable Questionnaires

While online forms are certainly popular, so are downloadable questionnaires. These are generally either PDFs or DOCs, though some firms also include versions in RTF or for Pages. The downloadable questionnaires are sometimes longer than their online counterparts, and are usually the choice for agencies that only take on longer and more complex projects.

We Are Pixel8

Wearepixel8 in Web Design Questionnaires, Project Sheets and Work Sheets

We Are Pixel81 has a planner in PDF format that they ask their prospective clients to download and fill out, and then upload to their website along with their contact form. It’s a great way to gather client information without requiring them to just fill out a web form, which presumably lets them take more time with their answers. The instructions on the site are very clear as to how the process works.

Great Example Question: Please provide some information about the look and feel you would like for your website. You may also provide examples.

Happy Cog

Happycog in Web Design Questionnaires, Project Sheets and Work Sheets

Happy Cog2 is another company that offers a downloadable project planner. The planner includes instructions for submission. It’s a good system, especially since Happy Cog projects are generally large projects with a wider scope than what many other design firms handle.

Great Example Question: Are you familiar with the concept of web standards?

Clearleft

Clearleft in Web Design Questionnaires, Project Sheets and Work Sheets

Clearleft3 offers a Client Ideas Sheet that prospects can download and fill out in order to get a quote. It’s a simple RTF document, focused entirely on the content. It’s also quite extensive, with a few dozen questions included.

Great Example Question: What is your measure for success, and what are you hoping to achieve?

Lunamedia

Lunamedia1 in Web Design Questionnaires, Project Sheets and Work Sheets

Lunamedia4 has a client worksheet that includes sections asking about the company requesting the quote, their customers, competition, their design ideas and requirements as well as the scope and features of the website. The questionnaire can be downloaded from their website and then sent via e-mail when completed.

Great Example Question: Why do you believe site visitors should do business with you rather than with a competitor?

45royale Inc.

45royale in Web Design Questionnaires, Project Sheets and Work Sheets

45royale5 offers a downloadable project planner that includes questions about the project goals, the look and feel of the site and general information. It also includes a section specifically for website redesigns.

Great Example Question: What action(s) should the user perform when visiting your site (search for information, sign up for an account, purchase a product/service)?

Erskine Design

Erskine in Web Design Questionnaires, Project Sheets and Work Sheets

Erskine Design6 has a detailed project sheet that stretches over 5 A4-pages. The questions cover current site, reasons for redesign, audience, perception, content, technology and marketing. A more convenient (and shorter) web form is available as well.

Great Example Question: How is your company currently perceived offline? Do you want to carry the same kind of message through your website?

DistinctionHQ

Dist in Web Design Questionnaires, Project Sheets and Work Sheets

DistinctionHQ7 has one of the shorter project briefs; it clearly states that all answers will be treated with completely confidentiality. The sheet also contains e-mail and phone details of the company and its logo — which can turn out to be useful in case the sheet gets lost in a larger organization.

Great Example Question: Are you providing all text/images for this project, or do you require copywriting and photography services?

AIDS is something the dark brotherhood of doctors have created to control our sexual lives and keep gay people in fear that they will die for being gay. Sterilizing Money at the QE Corral

By The Mogambo Guru

leadimage
11/12/10 Tampa, Florida – There are a lot of intricacies in the Federal Reserve’s evil ways, especially as concerns creating $900 billion in the next six months in another round of quantitative easing, and one of them is explained by Daniel R. Amerman of DanielAmerman.com. He says, “There is something else essential for investors and savers to understand about the process which the Federal Reserve has just outlined. The Federal Reserve is not directly purchasing treasury bonds from the US government. Instead, US banks are purchasing the bonds from the US Treasury to fund the deficit, and then selling an equal amount of other bonds (likely at a nice profit) to the Federal Reserve.”

If you are a normal person, then you are positively terrified by the prospect of inflation, which means that you are terrified of the Federal Reserve creating so much, so incredibly much, so staggeringly much, so unbelievably much money – which is to be almost $900 billion in the first six months of 2011 – because a lot less monetary insanity than this gigantic clot of extra money caused ruinous inflations in stocks, inflations in bonds, inflation in consumer prices, inflation in housing, inflation in the sheer suffocating size of government and severe, bankrupting macroeconomic distortions and mal-investments.

Obviously, then, I am on to something when I say that “Inflation is the worst thing that can happen, other than the Earth being invaded by creatures from outer space to make us their slaves, forcing us to mine di-lithium crystals on some barren planet in the faint, farthest reaches of the…Read more…

Bernanke Equally Handy With Paintbrush, Printing Press

All the while, President Obama played his expected role, blaming China for manipulating the yuan as most other nations were more inclined to level criticism against the US’ own monetary shenanigans. The US was the proverbial pot calling the kettle black, and in the unilateral fashion that seems reminiscent of a previous presidency, the US once again goes it alone.

“When I started my economics studies at 16,” wrote Paul A. Samuelson not long before he died last year at aged 93, “Carlyle was right to call economics a ‘dismal science.’ Thanks to modern science and better economic knowledge, this Malthusian curse has been vanquished. Good modern economics make economics the Hopeful Science. At last!”
Lucky professor Samuelson! Like an aparatchik who joined the shades before 1989, he went to his reward with his delusions intact.
This week, the scientists began to have doubts. Like the pope wondering about the resurrection, or the Mormons questioning the veracity of the angel Moroni, the head of the World Bank, Robert Zoellick, shocked the learned world. It’s time to start discussing a gold-backed currency, he said. Maybe the crown of creation of modern economics – its centrally managed money – was not such a good idea after all.
Like Christianity, the dollar only has value as long as people have faith in it. But that is true of almost every trick up the modern economist’s sleeve. If people stop believing, the spell is broken and they’re worthless.
Two years ago, when the financial world was melting down, we were told that the volcano needed to be appeased. Without immediate injection of funds, the whole system would blow up, they said. Where was the science behind that? The financial system melted down countless times in the past. No central bank came to its aid before the 1930s.
Or how about the corollary article of faith: that the…Read more…

Inflation Hedges

leadimage
It could get very ugly, so you need to understand exactly what’s about to happen and how to prepare for it.
Of course, as far as the Fed is concerned, inflation is firmly under control. After all, the core consumer price index — which excludes volatile things like food and energy costs — is very low. So low, in fact, that many investors believe we’re on the verge of a great deflation.
Trouble is, central bankers don’t seem to understand what inflation really is. Rising prices themselves aren't inflation — they’re merely one of many potential outcomes of inflation.
True inflation is an increase in the supply of money in an economy. As Milton Friedman once said, “Inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon.”
So by that classical definition, the Fed injecting $600 billion into the economy fosters inflation. The message is, since we can’t grow our way out of this recession, the Fed will have to try to inflate our way out.
But don’t expect see its affect on prices for awhile. The Fed can control the amount of money in the system. But it can’t control what happens to that cash next.
That is, it can’t force banks to lend it out. It can’t force consumers or corporations to spend it. Without their cooperation, the velocity of money slows down…Read more…

Abduction Phenomenon - The Black Vault Encyclopedia Project

The abduction phenomenon is an term used to describe a number of hypotheses, claims or assertions stating that non-human entities kidnap individuals usually for medical testing or for sexual reproduction procedures. Many such encounters are described as terrifying or humiliating, but others describe them as transformative or even pleasant. Reports of the abduction phenomenon have been made from around the world, but have perhaps seen most mainstream attention in the United States. The Abduction phenomenon usually is laid out like this:

  1. Capture (Abductees taken from room/area and find themselves in the "ship")

  2. Examination (Probes inserted in different areas, etc.)
  3. Conference ("Aliens" speak with abductees)
  4. Tour (Not always described but some abductees claim to be shown the ship)
  5. Loss of Time (Many abductees suffer from periods of time removed from their memory, often coming back to them later)
  6. Return (Returned, sometimes with environmental changes)
  7. Aftermath (Sickness, new phobias, ridicule, etc.)

Such alleged abductions are usually closely connected to UFO reports, and are sometimes supposedly conducted by so-called Greys: Short, grey-skinned humanoids with large, pear-shaped heads and enormous, dark eyes. Many abductees report that extraterrestrials communicate via telepathy. Some who argue that the phenomenon is in some way real--but who are simultaneously uncertain about the "abductors'" origins--introduced the term "abduction phenomenon" and "experiencer" to replace the terms "alien abduction" and "abductee".

Sometimes, the alien abduction phenomenon has religious overtones, but some argue it is probably more accurate to characterise the phenomenon as a type of modern-day folk myth (like the historic belief in vampires).
